Velika came to Port Kar with the view to "start over" as best she could. Her history? As much as she would speak of it, she says she comes from Kassau, near the Northern forest and just a hair's breadth from Torvaldsland. She says she was born into the peasant caste, and the calluses on her hands seem to attest to a life of manual labor.

When asked what interests her about Port Kar, she laughs a bit and shrugs her shoulders, stating that Port Kar seemed like a good city to get lost in and far away from the cloistered and gossipy streets of Kassau.
